Partners In Print
is a collective effort to encourage people in every community to donate books to their local facilities for children in foster care.

Foster children are a silent minority among the nation's youth and are often plucked from their homes with just a few meager belongings.  We all know about foster care, but not many are privy to the realities of it. These children are abused and neglected and hurting to a degree that most of us cannot fathom. But we can do something about it.

When we place a book into the hands of a child we give them the keys to a magic kingdom, open their eyes to new worlds, and give them hope for a better tomorrow. We can help improve literacy, dare them to dream, and show them people care. All we have to do is donate a few books. It's that easy.

Our mission is to encourage everyone to remember these children and sift through your stacks of books for a few you could part with. Hold it in your hands and remember how you felt reading it, what you saw, what you loved about the characters-- and then be willing to let it go. Let the book go to a child who may otherwise never get the chance to know it like you do. It's a gift that will last a lifetime and it may not cost you a thing.

Just imagine the impact we could have if we all donated just a few books. It could total hundreds, or even thousands of books and reach hundreds or even thousands of children! That would be a huge impact on the next generation.

We often hear the term 'raising awareness' about this cause or that cause, but we are not trying to raise awareness-- we want to promote action. And it's something we could all accomplish and be a help in our own communities. You will get the satisfaction of knowing you helped a child just by giving a book.

If you're not sure where to donate just Google ( or open the phone book ) your local Department of Human Services or CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Give them a call and they will tell you where to bring the books.

Please join with Partners In Print and together we can make a difference in the lives of children.
